 Falcon lake is really easy to get too it is off the biggest highway in Canada so you will not miss it , the fish you will be fishing for will be northern pike walleye , the walleye are over ten lbs awesome already the bigger they are the harder they fight , the best time too fish here is all summer long , it is located at gps 49.702 -95.251 , enjoy .

 so you like night fishing when the really big ones come out to play , well you will like this tip , now remember this is not legal in some places in the world , here is what you do you buy yourself glow sticks at the dollar store for a dollar or two , get a weight and tie all the glow sticks to it and toss it in to the water where you want to catch the fish , easy tip but like I said may not be legal where you are fishing so check and see if it is , enjoy .

 the Red Deer river i fish here the most at night just below the dam which is off of Glennifer lake , the gps is 52.145 -113.968 ,  here i use crank bait that is gold in color with a black strip down the back of the hook , you will be fishing for walleye , goldeye , brown trout and many other kinds of fish i have caught a 20 lbs brown trout , awesome fight that was , it totaled my rod , was so worth it , depending on what part of the river you fish in will depend on what type of fish you will be catching how about a 15 lbs northen pike yeah got one of those two , enjoy i sure do .

Elk river gps for your map search is 49.529 -115.031 this fishing spot is right next to Fernie B.C so no need to pack a lunch it is in the south part of the province , you can take the Crowsnest Hwy right to it , this is a great place to fish because they have hotels , restaurants right where you will be fishing , now the fish you will be trying to catch are as follows .

barb less hooks

i like to tell everyone that when you catch and release like i do you do it so some day the fish you released will be a bigger one for you or some one else to catch , now there are some kind of fish that just die trout are one of them , now i de barb all my hooks you can use a pair off pliers to do this , you can also buy barb less hooks all though they cost more then regular hooks , they help to return the fish to the water with out harming it , now when you start fishing with barb less hooks you will learn a new skill because it is not easy at first this takes some practice , now all fish are not created equal some die just cause and some you beat the scales off and they will swim away and live to be caught another day , i caught a jack fish that had propeller marks along its back it got beat up by a motor boat and lived for me to catch it twice , trout on the other hand are sensitive to being caught so you have got to be more careful  when returning them to the water  i think that the bigger the fish the better it will survive , so help out the fishing life style by de barbing all your hooks the fish will thank you for it , enjoy.

 so you like your fishing line , well keep it this is because why , fishing line is like men's cars , they prefer one make over another , because they have had problems with other makes , this is true about fishing line people will swear that there fishing line is the best ever and when you use it , that's right it sucks , if you like a type of fishing line stick with it , you don't insult a man's car and you don't insult his fishing tackle , everyone fishes for fish in there own way some people slightly jerk the line to hook a fish , some people heave  it all the way back to hook a fish , some people like fishing in rivers  some like lake fishing , so if your fishing line works for you depending on how you like to fish then keep it , no one knows more about how and where you fish then you do , enjoy .

 so you are out fishing and pull a back muscle , strain your leg , tear a bicep all of these things have happened to many a fisher man that caught the big one , so do not let this happen to you because with all sports yes even golf you need to stay in shape to prevent injury , so if you think you can handle a three hour battle with a 500 pound fish and not hurt yourself in any way , think again , so stay fit because you never know when you will be wishing you had as you lay in your bed after the greatest fishing fight of your live , wondering if you can even move with out pain to go to the bathroom , so don't kid your self fitness is good for life and your life needs to be a pain free as possible ,enjoy .  

what fly to use when fishing

the secret to knowing what type of fly to use to catch the fish , well in order to know the answer you first look at your surroundings trees shrubs , high grass you are looking for bugs beetles flying , bugs because when the weather gets cold at night these are the bugs that land on the surface of the water which the fish eat , so find out what bugs the area has and match the fly to the bugs this will increase your chance of catching what you came for , enjoy

when to fish

 so there are many theories on when the best time to fish is , well now you will learn something new to day and that is fish do not bite when the pressure of the water is less then the surrounding air , now they will bite when the water pressure is greater this happens you guessed it in the morning and evening time of day , there is another time when the water pressure is greater and that is when the temperature is hot enough out side to raise the water pressure this happens when the air temperature is 32 c or higher this temperature causes the water to expand which in turn cause the pressure to increase and the fish to bite , and yes if the moon is pulling on the ocean then it is increasing the pressure of the water but there is no evidence that the moon has any pulling power on small bodies of water like lakes sorry just is , so there you have it now get fishing , enjoy .

 so you are out fishing from shore , don't dis pare you have a very good chance of catching the big one , because over % 60 of big fish caught were from shore about 12 feet out , this is true of night fishing because the big fish at night come to shore to catch there dinner which is the smaller fish hiding in the weeds or the rocks around the shore line , sometimes there are you could call them pot holes where the fish swim in the bottom and when you find one the fishing is great because you can fish all day and still catch them , so where you fish is not the problem it is how you fish , new fishing spots are the best because you have to learn where the fish are , the small fish are hiding and the big fish are cruising around , the small ones are easier to find , because we already know where the small ones are hiding it is finding where the big ones are that is the most fun and when you hook one , enjoy .  

the tension on a reel .

 as you learn in life you know more , good one OK so every reel has a tension i like the open cast ones because the tension is on the front or the back of the reel this tension is not for decoration it is so you do not break the line when fishing ,if i have 12 lbs line on my reel i like the tension to be set at about 8 to 10 lbs never set your tension at the same weight or more your line will break and the fish gets your hook and your line , you can set the tension by using your scale attached to the end of your line when you pull it out to see how much tension there is or usually i tug on the line with my hand to judge how tight it is , when you set it right even when the fish comes out of the water and jack knives on you the line will hold , never set the line to how big the fish are because they can generate a lot more force then you realize , enjoy  .

so you are going to be fishing in water that is deep then three feet so here is how red fishing line works when it starts to go deeper then three feet under the water it starts to disappear you heard me right now if you can get your hook down to more then twelve feet of water the fish will not be-able to see it at all this is because the red in light gets filtered out first , which is why camera people who take pictures under water bring a red light with them to take more colorful photos so get some and get fishing , enjoy .

fishing season started April 1 2014

 so fishing season started April 1 my  dads birthday no i am not joking it really is his birthday , so i went to get my fishing licence and to my surprise i and many others like me could not get our fishing licence on opening day , this was because the computers that give you your licence were being updated , are you kidding , i ask the cashier nope she was not kidding opening day no licence and no fishing regulation hand book , why do we pay these people for again . gets better the regulation hand book now that i now have the new one for 2014 has the same unreadable maps as every other year when are they going to get maps you can read , i took orienteering in school and when i look at these things they call maps i go what the f , someone has got to do something about the regulations so normal people can understand where you can fish , because if you can't find the spot listed to fish on there map you have to find the map you can trust and there map is not it , enjoy.
